3.9 / 5.0 - Legend Bowl
Aug 12, 2023

Legend Bowl is the retro football game the old heads and new breeds deserve and I’m glad it finally made it to consoles. I had so much fun playing matches and tournaments, and the game’s customisation is truly amazing and one of the best I’ve used. On top of that is the low price you’re required to pay for such a great quality video game. The only negative I can discuss is that it doesn’t have an online mode. It’s nice to play with friends, but what if you’re the only one to have this game? This is one reason why an online feature would’ve benefited greatly.

Despite the few glaring issues, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (2023) surpasses Modern Warfare II in every possible way. This is Sledgehammer’s redemption arc for the multiplayer of their last game, Call of Duty: Vanguard, which had plenty to be desired. Clearly, going old school with the maps was the juice needed to finally replenish the franchise. Additionally, as the gameplay and content are much more exciting, immersive, and engaging, this feels like the traditional Call of Duty we all know and love. So, is Call of Duty back? You bet it is. Great job, Sledgehammer.

3.9 / 5.0 - The Finals
Jan 19, 2024

Embark Studios has given us a game with massive potential, and one would be confident that enough will be done to meet it eventually. THE FINALS is an extremely exciting, immersive, creative, and fast-paced first-person shooter. Moreover, with its impressive gameplay mechanics, game modes, features, completely destructible environments, and more, it’s no wonder it’s growing and will surely continue to do so in the future. Again, it has to be reiterated that it’s free to play, and I strongly recommend any FPS gamer install this game.

A surprisingly enjoyable 3D battle action game that leaves you coming back for more – and if you’re an anime lover, you will defo get a kick out of Alice Gear Aegis CS: Concerto of Simulatrix. Although, the defensive side, especially the shield, needs a little work, and the story may not be stellar. Nonetheless, it has more than enough content and then some to keep the target demographic very happy.

3.8 / 5.0 - Thunder Ray
Sep 5, 2023

Thunder Ray is indeed lacking content, and the gameplay is extremely short. Nonetheless, this was still an incredibly fun arcade boxing experience and a game that would catch the eyes of gamers from any generation as long as you’re not too fussed about the biggest drawbacks that were discussed. Thunder Ray definitely has something going on here, and hopefully, this is the starting point that’ll lead to updates, more features, and possibly a sequel in the future.

3.8 / 5.0 - Wild Card Football
Oct 15, 2023

Wild Card Football is a blast from the past, and it’s great to take a break from a realistic simulation like Madden and simply enjoy an old-school arcade sporting title with a unique wild card system. Whether playing solo or with others, you’re guaranteed an incredibly fun-packed, content-compelling American footballing experience with some of your favourite NFL ballers. And for more incentive, you’ll love how much the game costs.

75 / 100 - F1 Manager 2022
Sep 18, 2022

F1 Manager 2022 has the potential to lead a successful franchise. You are getting an understanding of the toughness of being a Formula 1 manager, and at the same time, you are getting a great experience. Not a shabby start for an inaugural game. However, the game is severely lacking in content, so unless you’re a hardcore fan of Formula 1, the game doesn’t offer much replayability. Perhaps, we will get more in the next game.

EDENGATE: The Edge of Life has an interesting concept supported by its unsettling atmosphere with decent visual details, stellar voice acting, and horror soundtracks. But it severely holds back for its minimal mechanics and obscure plot.

Ultimately, Call of Duty: Vanguard has some qualities to make this an enjoyable game, this is not an improvement to the previous Call of Duty games, by any stretch.

3.7 / 5.0 - Back 4 Blood

Back 4 Blood is simply a game that possesses endless fun for you and your peers. Although, it does have a few flaws; it doesn’t take away from the very exciting gameplay that simply makes Back 4 Blood worthy of purchasing.

74 / 100 - The Chant
Nov 5, 2022

The Chant tells a gripping cult tale and offers more than sufficient terror to have you quivering in your boots. However, the gameplay is pretty inconsistent, and the visuals are not current-gen standard. A lot of things to do and many resources at your disposal, but with very limited mechanics to work with. Nonetheless, if you’re looking for a game to occupy you until the release of a much bigger title, then this will do its job.

Despite some of the glaring weaknesses, Crime Boss: Rockay City has praiseworthy content, thoroughly had a good time playing, and it was better than anticipated. Lastly, Crime Boss: Rockay City will have more to come with DLCs throughout the year. And with Payday 3 arriving in September – one would hope that the updates bring a lot more to the table with different sets of missions, weapons, characters, improvements and more to keep their audience.

3.7 / 5.0 - AEW: Fight Forever
Jul 7, 2023

AEW Fight Forever shouldn’t have bothered having commentary if players are getting a few lifeless sentences spoken during entrances and after matches. This is especially for iconic colour commentator good ol’ Jim Ross (J.R.) deserves much more respect with play-by-play commentary. Despite some of the glaring issues, AEW Fight Forever is a well-grounded entry into the franchise and has done its job to deliver a retro-like wrestling game to adhere to wrestling fans of previous generations and even new-age wrestling fans can fully appreciate.

3.6 / 5.0 - Chernobylite
May 7, 2022

Chernobylite looks a lot fresher on the PlayStation 5. The developer had done a splendid job in identifying the main issues from the previous-gen console and fixed them, as well as enhanced the game’s current features and overall produced a more playable and enjoyable title.

72 / 100 - Madden NFL 23
Sep 1, 2022

Madden NFL 23 has given me hope in this franchise in moving forward. Although there are some issues that may be fixed with some patches, there are many other changes that led this installment to be the best Madden game in years. And, of course, with the introduction of the new fieldSENSE system that is becoming a revelation to the franchise, it’s no wonder why this is the case. Also, with the new NFL season coming soon, this will surely be an excellent year for the players.

3.4 / 5.0 - Martha is Dead
Mar 29, 2022

Martha is Dead is probably the most disturbing game I have ever played. What I have witnessed is unheard of. This game deserves massive praise for bringing awareness to mental illness and trauma and the effects they can inflict on a human mind. The story contained enough horror, shock, and twists to leave me with much to think about and create theories.

3.4 / 5.0 - Fort Solis
Aug 23, 2023

Fort Solis has so much potential, and not enough was done to meet it. It’s definitely not close to perfection, and it’s far from a game I would tell others to avoid completely. However, despite the low price – for what you’re getting, especially the very short and limited gameplay and content, I’d highly recommend to even the most science fiction fanatics to hold out until the game becomes free.

3.4 / 5.0 - The Inquisitor
Feb 12, 2024

The Inquisitor is definitely worth your time, with a chilling story, a likable protagonist, intriguing features, and gameplay mechanics. Unfortunately, the issues mentioned earlier knock this game down some excellent points. Nonetheless, the game has just enough to be an enjoyable post-medieval-era experience. Also, in case you aren’t aware, The Inquisitor demo is available to try out for yourself.
