To the large size of the campaign and an exploration based on three layers or dimensions of Hyrule, there is an immense creative power, capable of modifying the experience, always with the puzzles in sight, the mental gymnastics supported by beautiful melodies, a refined language and a remarkable artistic dimension. Again called upon to return peace to Hyrule, Link comes close to the gods.

But at the same time it introduces with the Drive system a series of nuances and mechanics that enhance the strategy within the classic system, which will tell so much to veterans. Reinforced in the online component and more formative, it is the most friendly and simultaneously challenging Street Fighter. It injects new blood into an innovative, refreshing combat system that is at the same time endowed with the subtleties that make mastering a fighting game demanding.

The pace of the game is high and steady in challenges, with few dead moments, no intrusive or drying dialogue. It is a direct and intense game in the missions, able to remember the catadupa of events and challenges of a Mario Galaxy, for example. And at the same time it is delightful in art, in a very planetary sphere and at the same time human and realistic, and also possessing an appreciable physics, although here and there with some frame rate breaks, which fortunately little or nothing affect the gameplay. There is almost a commotion when we leave behind these creatures, so essential in the multiple rescue missions, but it is possible to return to the PNF-404, with the salvation Otchin, for another dandori missions, in which organization and efficiency are essential for success. It's nice when a game exudes a message as well.

Much could be written about the particularities of this badge or any idea affects on a level, but nothing like experimenting and discovering how Super Mario Bros. Wonder, starting from the oldest model in the series, is at the same time a wellspring of ideas, mechanics and challenges in constant rotation. It's simple and accessible but at the same time challenging and packed with secret areas, hard-to-get collectibles and arduous challenges that even the most well-versed in the series can feel like the game bites. And in all of this there is fun and the somewhat hallucinated feeling of yet another ingenious level. It's a game that flourishes above all in ideas and mechanics, proving that the 2D segment of the Super Mario series is capable of standing shoulder to shoulder with the 3D references of the series.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection just doesn't suppress the open spot for the next chapter of the series. The collection is however a done, a work produced with care and care that fans of the series have become accustomed to with the bungie quality seal.

9 / 10.0 - Forza Horizon 2
Oct 16, 2014

Forza Horizon 2 is one of those games of immediate attraction and full traction, which leads us to feel the minimum forces of movement, but allowing an amazing control of trajectory.

In an obvious perception of evolution, M2, Taito and Inin Games offer both for PS4 and Switch (the analyzed version) a compilation of proven quality, with minimal latency times, impeccable sounds and a section of options and progression parameters that make visible the segments where the gains and failures happened, in the always essential repetitions. Infinite credits are almost essential to start playing, but the time invested here is regained in this realm of art between continuous firing and "lock on" attacks. Some more content would give other reasons to play or replay, still an edition enhanced with three good games, which is not only for Japan.

After a six-year absence, Forza Motorsport returns to the road with a new version that is well-honed on the axes promoted by Turn 10. It's an immediately familiar game, capable of lasting for months and years, in a racing style between simulation and arcade inclination. Somewhat conservative in the game modes, without shying away from compartmentalized structures and not given to risking new tests and challenges, he plays the card in the heart of the races, in the physics and in the driver's seat, refining much of his legacy, even if he has left behind some of the most impressive circuits that the series has known. Nevertheless, it remains as one of the best driving games. Capable of challenging and impressing the most ardent fan of car driving.

In the end it's a very balanced and successful proposal, a meeting of forces between Square and Nintendo that worked well. Perhaps the greatest merit of this remake is to fulfill the mission that the original lacked, to leave the Japanese exclusivity and reach the whole world, with a presentation that reveals care and at the same time fidelity to the primitive design.

With a pleasant soundtrack and well-constructed cinematic sequences, combined with meticulous art and a great narrative thread capable of holding the player through the constant time travel, Astlibra Revision is a great and challenging experience as an action role play game. It is true that it is the result of a solo production that has received the treatment of a team in this edition of Revision and that accommodates many elements and a management of the equipment and experience in old school modes. But he also knows well that games of this caliber and composition continue to reach the market, beyond the names and brands that usually triumph in these productions.

Despite the limited length and a lesser capacity to surprise as you progress through the eight worlds, Mario Vs Donkey Kong is still an exciting, fun and challenging experience. The gameplay is impeccable, as well as the revamped graphics have a catch-all that the original clearly no longer produces unless you're a die-hard fan of retro games. Mario vs Donkey Kong's cleaned face fits the Switch screen well, shining through colours, enemy detail and moving objects. It's one of those games that asks us to think and reflect, continuously, between jumps and other spinning operations. A great alternative to the usual platform games.

As a medieval epic, although it can be inserted in the category of ghost hunters, where there is room for the Souls saga and vampire games, the most salient trait that many will identify when playing is how these influences also pour into an adventure that is also a beautiful love story, a romance in the sense that it seems to command the fate of the characters. It is clear that the developers wanted to make a different game here, to attribute a broader purpose to Antea and Red's relationship, far from retaining the gaze on their occupations and in giving more depth to the narrative, surprising the player and leading him to experience more emotions.

With racing trophies, mini-games and access to online racing, the content is far from in short supply. But it's the saturation effect, derived from the very accessibility or ease with which missions are completed and other times by their rudimentary nature that makes the experience less remarkable. In constant walking from one side to the other, it is in the moments of construction that a car is produced to taste. If other games of this toy brand left good memories after landing the controller, this driving title, while interesting, is not particularly surmountable in some area. It works well and manages to reach a wide audience, but you quickly forget the time spent on the road, leveling up.

Visually, Milestone did a good job, even if it didn't eliminate some loadings. In any case, the representation of the riders is pleasant and their movements on top of the bike and in response to the contact of the tyres with the asphalt is consistent. Far from being remarkable a great improvement over the past edition but there seems to be some more brightness and color, especially if we control a Ducati rider, perhaps by the red color in contrast to the dark of the asphalt and the blue of the sky. Perhaps only the most diehard fans want to renew and enjoy the new entry into MotoGP. Although with some nice improvements and tweaks, both in the driving, in the career mode and in the dynamic weather conditions, there is nothing substantially new to justify the immediate entry into the tracks. Too bad the absence of the development of the "nine season 2009" mode, which revitalized the mythical duel between Rossi and Lorenzo.

If Kanai Ward's aesthetics, character design, art and environment are convincing, from a performance standpoint some frame rate breaks are detected, especially on the walk through the city. Some loadings are also time-consuming and there are passages where some approximations to objects or characters reveal fewer textures. Still and for the type of proposal that it proposes to build, in the universe of mystery and crime games, this title manages to entertain and provide a consistent challenge, with a pleasant variety of mechanics and segments of hints and clues, even if these mostly prove to be of great simplicity. However, it lacks the desirable balance between the slower moments of investigation with the fast pace of the mysterious labyrinth, to the point of providing a better rhythmic and more captivating experience.

It is noticed that the producers created the game with family in mind. The challenge is not the most refined, it lacks a good dose of puzzles and that degree of production more careful, evidenced not only by the metroidvania but by titles like Rayman Legends that also operate in the horizontal side scroll. Here the characters move to reach the objectives and overcome the obstacles, dodging the enemies and avoiding the successive traps set on the way. It is therefore a long obstacle course, labyrinthine and accessible. Still with the typical trait and originality of a Disney animation.

Without overflowing or incorporating something very different, Fae Farm doesn't diverge from the dominant formula for a real-life simulator. He lives and makes himself of routines. There's a magical arts component that makes the action quick and automated, though the challenges presented and the narrative fit some vulgarity. However, with the daily tasks and the forays into the dungeons, the game manages to sometimes create a persuasive effect, convincing at times.

However, these less good little notes to retain do not detract from the essentials of a game that takes up the spirit of arcade racing classics. The music by Barry Leich is admirable, with rhythms and sonorities that fit well into the environment and that magma of contrasting colors, a remarkable kaleidoscope. In the background the game maintains a rotation of challenges, with new tests and challenges that need to be visited beyond the world tour. The satisfaction of being able to challenge other players online at any time is also remarkable. In short, a fun game to play anywhere on these mild summer days, especially with a network connection.

In summary, Detective Pikachu Returns is a clear continuation of the previous game. Better and more worked, especially in the environment and in the production, as well as in the relationship between the two characters, although it remains aimed at a young audience. It lacks the challenge of other detective games and the narrative doesn't free us from tiresome sections and a lot of circumstantial dialogues. Still, an adventure different from the backbone of the Pokémon series, endowed with a duo of characters who interact with each other and with the city where they investigate with some propriety.

Under the Waves manages, despite its flaws and some routine and predictable occupation service, to leave a great impression when it moves on to moments of exploration that thicken the mystery. Perhaps it will be overtaken by other narratives and different models of interaction. But much of what it proposes is appealing and also for those who play it provides that feeling of isolation. It generates sensations and that's also what is asked of a game with a strong narrative and cinematic component.
