As a project from a small indie studio, Rising Hell boasts simple gameplay, a healthy dose of challenge for both fans of the genre and complete newcomers, and an appealing audiovisual presentation. For a reasonable price, you’ll get several hours of fun escaping from the pit of hell. Although the game isn’t perfect and has a few flaws, the developers can certainly be proud of their work.

Moncage is a unique puzzle game featuring perspective-based puzzles that are sure to captivate a wide range of players. Let your imagination run wild, piece together all the clues, and keep your eyes peeled. Against a backdrop of pleasant music and visual design, a heart-wrenching story unfolds—one I wish had been presented more clearly. The game is unique in several ways and is definitely worth at least a try, even for those who aren’t big on puzzles.

FAR: Lone Sails is a relaxing adventure game with a unique art style, enriched with logic puzzles and challenges, in which you play as a tiny girl uncovering the tragic fate of a parched world. The main focus of the game is controlling your metal vehicle, which is interesting at first, but later the actions become repetitive without anything new, leading to a slight sense of monotony. Over the course of about three hours, you’ll embark on a journey through a beautiful world that feels more like a work of art than a game.

Effie is a charming platformer with a moral lesson, and if you can accept that it’s aimed more at a younger audience—which explains its lower difficulty—you’ll have a few hours of fun. The beautiful world, with its dazzlingly colorful graphics, offers complete freedom to explore. However, nothing comes without its problems, which here take the form of occasional technical glitches and an uninteresting antagonist. Effie isn’t a bad game, but it won’t impress more demanding players.

At first glance, Devil's Hunt definitely looks like an action-packed, brutal beat-'em-up with an interestingly rendered world and a slightly clichéd story. Unfortunately, that’s just how it appears—it’s a misleading impression. Instead of the action you’ve been longing for, you’ll get more of an interactive movie and a heap of whining. In that case, you’d at least expect well-designed combat, but the combat and other game mechanics will only leave you frustrated. It’s not a completely bad game, you can finish it but it doesn’t leave the best impression.

Still There is a small-format adventure game that hides many beauties and secrets. The emotionally powerful story must touch even the insensitive characters, because you won't have the chance to meet such tragic human fates anywhere else. Where the title falls short, on the other hand, is in the more challenging puzzles without enough clues, which in the end only drag the game out. The game is certainly not for impatient gamers looking for fast-paced action.

Lumione is a hardcore challenge, especially for older veterans and patient players who are not afraid to try the same jump over and over again for several tens of minutes. On the other hand, if you're a complete novice in the waters of puzzle platformers, you'd better wait a while and train your skills. The title may not offer anything miraculously revolutionary and unique on the market, but it will attract you with its magical appearance. The feeling you get when you finally give up after a few hours is priceless.

Creepy Tale is a creepy one-shot with a simple plot, friendly visuals, harmonious audio side and also with a few problems that slightly disturb the overall impression. The inspiration of the Brothers Grimm fairy tales is evident in the Slavic setting of the story and only enhances the overall dark atmosphere. If you can manage to arm yourself with more patience, hate jumpscars, but still want to play something horror, this title is perfect for you.

At first glance, Vane is a visually very appealing exploratory adventure game with a clear creative vision, but this is overshadowed by the gameplay. If the same amount of care and work had been put into the gameplay mechanics and gameplay itself as was put into creating the graphical identity, an interesting game with the potential to stand alongside other similarly-themed titles could have been created. Unfortunately, Vane has so many problems that I cannot in good conscience recommend it. Beautiful graphics alone are not enough.

Pinstripe is an interesting adventure game with a poetic story, but some players may find it hard to read due to its overdone style. The short game time and the associated smaller bite-sized content is also disappointing. The title, on the other hand, excels in the field of replayability, enjoyable audiovisual aspects and various options for progressing through the game. The overall point is thought-provoking... if you get it at all.

Haven presents you with one challenge after another in a dreamlike, audiovisually beautiful world where you'll spend dozens of hours unraveling all its hidden corners and contents. The blemish on an otherwise great title is the less well-handled co-op, rather sporadic hitches and feelings of stereotype for a certain variety of players. The romantically-themed story suits the younger generation more, but even a boomer like me enjoyed it to the fullest.

AER: Memories of Old is a charming explorative adventure game with a peaceful atmosphere aimed at relaxation and stress relief. The varied game world hides many small or big secrets and it will be up to you how much of it you want to discover. The transformations from girl to bird and vice versa are beautifully smooth, unfortunately the same cannot be said for the controls. The length of the gameplay isn't very friendly either, but if you're even slightly intrigued by the title, definitely take your time and immerse yourself in its beauty.

Lightmatter has come up with an interesting idea that definitely has a lot of potential. Even so, it is no match for the king of this genre, Portal, from which it takes perhaps its greatest inspiration. Despite all this, I still have to rate the game very positively, because it offers a lot - nice visuals, imaginative logic puzzles, new game mechanics, challenges and those great cynical comments from an even better dubbed narrator.

Dream Cycle is a diamond in the rough with big ambitions, but so far it has unfortunately fallen short in several ways. The unpolished combat system, bugs, flimsy controls, and over-lit and repetitive scenes, for example, are the game's biggest hurdles at this stage. The title is still in early access, so the developers can listen carefully to the community's comments and create a unique game thanks to them.

The game is a crazy psycho ride that is unparalleled at Amanity Design. For Halloween, it's the perfect title to induce fear and a disjointed mental state. Happy Game is definitely not that happy and together with the simple gameplay, eerie atmosphere and properly tuned graphics, it's a hilarious adventure game for lonely dark evenings.

Black Skylands, meanwhile, is showing off its open world of endless clouds in the Early Access, with danger lurking around every corner. Pull your muscles out of your bag and go liberate the islands, or stay at base and tend to your home. The title brings with it incredible freedom, beautiful visuals, addictive gameplay, a lust to discover more of Aspy's beauty and a curiosity to see what lurks in the dangerous Storm. While the gunfights can be a little cumbersome, and so can the airship steering, it's nothing the developers haven't worked on before the full game's release.

Wintermoor Tactics Club is an interesting tactical game with an intricate story, well-drawn characters and plenty of challenges. Play Lord of the Cave, write stories for your friends, and most importantly, survive high school unscathed as danger lurks at every turn. For me, the sometimes unnecessarily long and boring conversations, coupled with the impression of unfinished backgrounds and the inability to restart the whole attempt during a conflict, slightly spoil the overall impression of an otherwise fun turn-based game.

OPUS: Echo of Starsong is a great adventure game combining the best of several genres. Together, they create a unique concept of a touching and unforgettable story full of twists and turns, impressive visuals, sophisticated characters cleverly blended into the plot and a pleasant sound design. This game really does have an all personifying quality to it, and the slower pace gives you time to connect with the characters and experience their heartbreaking journey alongside them as if you were just another member of the crew.

Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles is literally a must for all fans of the original anime. The game, in its own distinctive style, describes Tanjiro's story through a shorter but well-crafted Adventure Mode. However, if you just want to kick the asses of unpopular characters, you'll appreciate Versus Mode as well. Overall, this is a hilarious title that certainly has something to offer even those who haven't heard of Demon Slayer. The beautiful anime graphic styling, engaging story, action-packed combat, smooth controls, tons of content, visually appealing effects, and heartfelt dubbing are sure to keep you entertained.

The Samorost 3 is exactly as long as you need it to be. Playable time depends on the player's ability and ranges from about two hours to ten or more if you want to find and collect all the achievements. During this adventurous quest you'll encounter colourful locations, intriguingly playful puzzles and an engaging story in the iconic surreal style we've all come to love so much. Take heart and save the universe!
