While the picture is fun, it should be noted that the game is actually short. I completed it in less than 15 minutes, along with all the Steam achievements. It was longer than expected because I spent about half of that time looking for one single cat. I firmly believe that games like that need to have a hint button. Much like the previous game in the series, 100 Hidden Cats: Kitty House 2 is a short and sweet hidden object game. If you need something concise, this might be the game for you.

Mind-blown - Cook For Love
Nov 22, 2024

With its colorful visuals, heart-warming story, stress-free gameplay, and snappy controls, Cook For Love is perfect for the upcoming holiday season. Whether or not you’ve played Tell Me Your Story and Amelia’s Garden, you’ll love Cook for Love and might want to try the other two games as well.

I’ve been a fan of the Regency Solitaire games for a while, and Shadowhand Solitaire is a welcomed addition to the series. I’ve also played the original version of the game, with the real-time combat, and while I really liked it, I can see why some people prefer the new Shadowhand Solitaire version. If you like solitaire, you’ll love this one.

Little Big Adventure: Twinsen’s Quest is a fun, somewhat clunky rerun of an old classic. It has its positives and its negatives, but even purely for nostalgia’s sake, I was more than happy to try it out. I was a bit disappointed by the controls and speed of the game, but hopefully, the developers will address that soon.

Mind-blown - Loco Motive

I’ve been waiting for Loco Motive for quite some time, and I was not disappointed at all. It’s a great game, a welcomed return to classic adventure games, and hopefully, a first in a series.

Amazing Weekend 2: Search and Relax 2 Collector’s Edition is yet another generic hidden object game. While it is nothing groundbreaking or unique, if you like the genre and are in the mood for some stressless fun, this game might be the one for you.

Doodle Harmony Idle Merge was a pleasant surprise for me – usually, I wouldn’t say I like idler clicker games and would have lost interest quite quickly. This game was engaging enough to make me stick until I unlocked all 100 doodle levels, and I imagine I might just go back to it at some point for some relaxing and still fast-paced fun.

If you are a fan of building games, Diorama might be the game for you. It offers us the chance to build and decorate interiors and exteriors in the same cozy pixel style. Honestly, what’s not to like?

Mind-blown - Mirthwood
Nov 6, 2024

Mirthwood has the makings of a very good life sim game. It heavily reminds me in the best possible way of Echoes of Plum Grove, another fantasy life sim RPG that I reviewed this year. If you love crafting and adventuring, the freedom to choose your own path, a beautiful and unique art style, great music, and attention to detail, I think you’ll love Mirthwood.

While Pawsome Hidden Cats: Kittynawa doesn’t offer anything genuinely new and spectacular to the genre, it’s still a fun and cozy game to play, especially with the colder months coming. Gemcraft Games, keep them coming!

Trine 5: A Clockwork Conspiracy is another fun addition to an already great series of games. The characters and the world of Trine are familiar, yet they always find new ways to engage us, and I hope we see more from the world of Trine.

Twistingo: Blue Moon Collector’s Edition is a pleasant addition to the Twistingo games. While it’s nowhere near groundbreaking, it offers a few hours of casual fun for fans of the hidden object games.

If you are an old fan of the series, I doubt there is much to say to dissuade you from playing Broken Sword – Shadow of the Templars: Reforged. There isn’t much reason to dissuade you anyway – it was done with evident appreciation and affection for the original games. If you are a new fan and this is the first time you are meeting George and Nico, well, you are in for a treat. Considering there’s yet another remake coming, based on the second game in the series -, this Autumn is shaping out to be great for adventure game fans!

Liked-a-lot - Farewell North
Sep 7, 2024

Farewell North is one of the more impactful and emotional gaming experiences I’ve had in recent years. The journey of the border collie, the bond with its human, and the struggle to find its way home all create a deeply emotional narrative that stays with you for a while and will probably bring a tear or two to your eyes. If you like story-driven adventures that tug at your heartstrings, you should definitely consider playing this game.
