Spacenap is a cute addition to the desktop idler genre. It’s a bit different from the usual fare with farms and gardens, but no less engaging. If you like chill little games, stars, and a dreamy atmosphere, give Spacenap a try.
While Kokoro Kitchen is by no means reinventing the genre, with its colorful and cozy visuals and no stress gameplay, it is a pleasant enough game to pass the time if you like farm-to-table restaurant managing games. I don’t usually play a lot of restaurant management games, but I really liked how cozy and stress-free Kokoro Kitchen was, and I spent a lot more time there than in other games.
Plus Ultra: Legado is a delightful surprise with a lot to offer. Despite being platformer-challenged as a rule, I played quite a bit longer than usual. Since it’s unlikely that I will be able to finish the game on my own, I will be eagerly awaiting someone uploading their gameplay onto YouTube, so I can see how the story unfolds. If you like platformers, do give Plus Ultra: Legado a try; you will be quite charmed.
If you like puzzles and are interested in the life of Nikola Tesla, you should try The House of Tesla. The game has a helpful demo on its page, so you don’t even need to buy it to try it. Despite some problems, the game is a great example of a traditional point-and-click adventure, and the continued support of its developers shows a lot of commitment to making the game great.
SOPA – Tale of the Stolen Potato is a warm and colorful adventure filled with wit and heart. Suppose you are in the mood for some lighthearted fun, with plenty of exploration, humor, and endearing stories. In that case, SOPA – Tale of the Stolen Potato might be the game for you.
LAN Party Adventures is a promising game with some issues. While I was occasionally annoyed, I ultimately don’t regret my time playing LAN Party Adventures. I enjoyed the trip down memory lane, but I also appreciated the story and its characters.
Cardamom: A Musical Visual Novel is a short but sweet visual novel about a cat looking for a home and connections. If you are in the mood for some musical magic, go and try it out.
Clutter 18: Joe’s Ultimate Challenge – Collector’s Edition is a very pleasant puzzle game. It doesn’t look as polished as some of its competitors, but it still delivers a great gaming experience, whether you are a die-hard fan of the puzzle genre or a casual gamer looking for a quick puzzle game while on a break
All in all, The Night Crawler is a short but cute game, with a pleasant soundtrack and hand-drawn animations. It offers a cozy respite from work, without any timers and expectations, and that in itself is pretty valuable.
I’ve played all the Hercule Poirot games that have come out in recent years, and I really loved Murder on the Orient Express. Thankfully, the developers have somewhat heard my prayers and made us a game in the same vein. Agatha Christie – Death on the Nile is a worthy successor to Murder on the Orient Express. Once again, we have a perfect game for the end of September, when the weather is turning cold, and staying home with tea, books, and video games seems like a natural conclusion. I do hope that Microids gives us more Hercule Poirot games in the future.
Twinkleby is a charming and relaxing decorating game that invites players to explore their creativity without the pressure of timers or expectations. In this whimsical world, we can design and decorate picturesque, dreamy floating islands to our heart’s content. The game allows for endless customization, offering a variety of decorations, landscapes, and themes to choose from. If you are in the mood for a cute decorating game, you should try Twinkleby– you will probably love it.
With Hidden Cats in Istanbul, we have another great addition to the hidden cat games. As always, I am excited to see where we are going next, looking for hidden cats!
Glass Masquerade 4: Constellations is a great addition to an already great game series. While it is an absolute must for fans of the games, it also makes for a great entry for new players to join in on the fun. The game is guaranteed fun with its gorgeous art, beautiful music, and smooth controls. I can hardly wait and hope for Onyx Lute to release some DLCs to go with the game
Strange Antiquities is a welcome return to the moody town of Undermere. It is what you would like from a cozy game for Autumn – strange artefacts, quirky characters, a moody soundtrack, a cat you can pet, and of course, an overarching mystery to solve.
Little Problems: A Cozy Detective Game will no doubt satisfy fans of the cozy genre. It will probably please fans of The Roottrees are Dead, as well, because it uses similar gameplay mechanics. I’ve played and reviewed and loved both games, and for me, the comparison was unavoidable. Of course, the mood for each game is very different, and in terms of coziness, Little Problems is the clear winner. If you are in the mood for some light-hearted detective fun, Little Problems: A Cozy Detective Game might be the game for you.
Sips and Sonnets is not only a visual novel, but it also thoughtfully explores themes of growing up, aging, and living a fulfilling life, as well as the wholesome connections we make with others. I admit I was attracted to the game because of all the tea shown in the trailer, and the poem making, and while all that was great, what really stayed with me were the characters. If you like thoughtfully crafted stories, with a lot of little facts about life, philosophy, poetry, and tea, Sips and Sonnets is the game for you.
If you enjoy card games, you may also appreciate Ellentis. It takes a bit to get used to the rules, but once you get the hang of it, at least on the easier difficulty setting, the levels will be a breeze.
The Merry Fairy is an excellent idea for those who already love collecting stickers, fairy tales, scrapbooking, and journaling. It sets out to create a cozy, magical place for you to relax, and it does so beautifully. If you are unsure if you’ll like The Merry Fairy, I encourage you to try the demo. You might be pleasantly surprised.
Tiny Bookshop was one of the games I’ve been most eagerly waiting for this year. Thankfully, it didn’t disappoint. I really appreciated the inclusion of real-world books in the recommendations, and I’ve added several titles to my own reading list. If you enjoy reading slice-of-life stories or slow-paced games, you’ll love Tiny Bookshop.
Whisper of the House is a perfectly cozy game, with a bit of adventure, a bit of intrigue, and a lot of unpacking. I think that if you enjoy this type of game, you’ll likely appreciate this one as well.
