Captain Sabertooth and the Magic Diamond has its moments. Still, the challenge fluctuates too much to give it a broad recommendation to youngsters. Without any difficulty settings or even a two-player mode where mom and dad could help out, I could see kids growing tired of this one after a while.
You may not have heard of the film that it's based on but Captain Sabertooth and the Magic Diamond is a solid and mostly fun platformer.
The classic side-scrolling platformer is a cornerstone of gaming, and obviously on a console that's home to Mario Nintendo fans are well acquainted with some of the best titles in the genre out there...
As a whole, I can see why this game is appealing. But with sticky controls and extreme repetition it’s not something I see myself picking up in the future. I don’t even think I’d recommend it to a younger audience since the challenge fluctuates too much and it’s not something you’d play enough to see the credits roll. I’d just leave it if I were you, unless you have a hidden love for the Captain Sabertooth franchise.
