SNK vs. Capcom: The Match of the Millennium Reviews
Despite the limitations of the hardware, it’s hard not to be impressed with what SNK created here. Even with slight performance issues, this is a fantastic retro fighter, and I’m thankful that Code Mystics managed to bring it over. If you’re even slightly interested in the SNK vs. Capcom crossover series, for $8, this is a worthy pickup for your Switch.
Featuring a large cast of characters from two popular fighting game universes, the rereleased SNK vs. Capcom: The Match of the Millennium delivers robust fisticuffs in an adorable package.
As part of the collection we’ve seen several releases of now, there’s nothing surprising here in terms of bells and whistles. Code Mystics’ emulation wrapper is awesome as usual, with all the different frames, visual tweaking and multiplayer options you’ll find in all the other ones. Perhaps most importantly, Match of the Millennium appearing here means that we don’t have to worry about the Capcom licensing being a barrier.
SNK vs. Capcom does so much right that the problems are far outweighed by everything else that is done so right.
