Critic Reviews for Please Fix The Road
It's a small gripe, though. Please Fix The Road isn't really trying to taunt you, it's trying to teach you its mannerisms. It's arguably a meditation on humans and nature, destroying environments only to rebuild them in organic and inorganic ways. But mostly it's just a wholesome and gratifying puzzle game that's impossible to be frustrated with. Even the title is polite.
Though the gimmick eventually wears thin and the complexity sometimes outpaces the simple concept by the time you reach the puzzles in the triple digits, Please Fix The Road shows that creativity and clever puzzle design are more important than a robust toolset or wide-ranging player freedom. It delivers a tight, curated puzzle-solving experience that hooks you from the very first puzzle and, through steadily evolving mechanics, delivers satisfaction around every turn.
Please Fix the Road is a gentle, quietly demanding puzzler that will keep you entertained for many hours, especially if you ration out the 150 levels. There’s always something new to experiment with or some cute little visual flourish to enjoy, and watching the last tile slot into place, then seeing the car (or train, or pink llama) whizzing along to its destination never stops being pleasing. In these discombobulating times, here is a little puzzle box that brings order to chaos, if only for a few stolen seconds.
Please Fix the Road is a charming puzzle game full of brain-teasing paths to fix. It sports cute aesthetics and a simple concept that keeps you on your toes in a relaxing environment. This budget title offers plenty of puzzles to keep you coming back until you solve them all.
A laid-back puzzle game with a charming minimalist look, Please Fix The Road will be sure to delight gamers of any age or skill. Well worth the price for some truly enjoyable puzzles!
Please Fix The Road is an often challenging puzzle game that sticks to its stringent design, without too many bells and whistles, and should appeal to some players looking for a rather specific puzzle design experience.
I'm happy that I played Please Fix The Road as it's simply one of the best puzzle games released in recent years so get paving, dear chum.
Beautiful, charming, smartly-designed and a joy to play, Please Fix The Road is one of 2022’s best puzzle games.
