Critic Reviews for Ghostrunner: Complete Edition

If you’ve been sitting out there, waiting for a take on Mirror’s Edge that features more ninja swords, your day of vindication has finally arrived. Ghostrunner is the finely crafted parkour playground you’ve been waiting for. We liked this game well enough the first time around, but the Complete edition gives you a strong reason to play. With all sorts of cosmetic features and new levels, it’s officially time to move it up your backlog.

Despite being physically hampered by the experience of playing the game, I could clearly see what the makers were going for here and I think they largely hit those notes well. I feel like this game has the potential to be a distinctly polarizing experience. Those that really get into it have the option to obsess over perfect, clean runs that lie within reach of those dedicated enough to perfect them; while those that don't are welcome to just put down the controller after a dozen hours of trial and error to completion. Don't give up on the first few failed attempts because the payoff when it all comes together is rewarding regardless of whether it took you ten tries or a hundred, and maybe even more so if the latter.

Ghostrunner: Complete Edition is the definitive Ghostrunner experience. If your proposal calls us and we haven't had a chance to play with it yet, this edition is perfect, since we will have the updated base game and all its downloadable content, as well as some more extras. With this edition we are ready for the expected sequel.

If you’ve completed the base game and still looking to cure that Ghostrunner itch, you can find respite in the Ghostrunner Complete Edition till the sequel drops. Project_Hel is as intense as the base game with an equally thumping OST albeit being very short. Not to mention, it gets repetitive after a while just like the base game. Even with the addition of new game modes, you won’t find anything revolutionary to justify the pricing of the Complete Edition. However, if money isn’t the concern, then for me it’s a recommendation

I don't know how Ghostrunner: Complete Edition slipped under my radar for two years, but it proved to be a very fun title. As the bastard and illegitimate child of Cyberpunk 2077 and Mirror's Edge, several aspects such as the narrative, atmosphere and frenetic gameplay are to be commended, as well as the Project Hel adventure and the overall good performance of the title. The only regrets are the bugs that occurred, the length of the adventure and the lack of accessibility options. Still this is a video game worthy of your time and attention, even more so if the themes employed are of interest to you.
