The so-called survival mechanics just get in the way of the fun, we all know that surviving apocalypse is supposed to be harsh and unforgiving but video games needs to be entertaining while challenging their audience which means all the intricate mechanics needs to have some balance which Decision: Red Daze sorely lacks.

Decision: Red Daze is an enjoyable game that fits the mold of titles in this genre. The system for improving character skills through activities and the use of items works very well. However, this eliminates the need for specializations, because no matter which character you start with, you can still improve various skills by using the right weapons. The artificial intelligence is weak and needs improvement across the board, for both friendly NPCs and enemies. The game is carried by its core system, which involves building a base, defending it, and fighting zombies or mutants, though this activity gets repetitive over time and becomes quite formulaic. However, if you enjoy this style of game, you definitely won’t be disappointed.
