Noel the Mortal Fate Reviews
Noel the Mortal Fate is an enjoyable action-adventure/visual novel but one whose strength lies firmly in the story. That story is what kept me playing to the end as I enjoyed the twists and turns and the character development along the way. The gameplay was just fine to me and the visuals also are somewhat lacking. In short, if you’re looking at Noel hoping for a great gameplay experience you should look elsewhere but if the storytelling is what you value then you’ll most likely be quite pleased.
To me, Noel the Mortal Fate is more of an interactive anime focused on storytelling than a game per se. The whole thing feels like a classic anime. It features the power of friendship, comically awkward conversations between Noel and Caron (she constantly calls him a “bird” because of his raven-like head), enemies who eventually become our allies, and so on. As an anime lover, I definitely enjoyed it. Each season brings new information, characters, a major battle, and an unexpected twist. If you’re also a big fan of anime games, definitely don’t hesitate—go all in on this game.

Noel the Mortal Fate is a fascinating action-adventure title. With incredible aesthetics and a wonderful story, it is easy to adore this game. What's more, its simple approach allows you to revel in every dramatic twist and turn.
NOEL The Mortal Fate tries to do a lot all at once, and for the most part, it succeeds. It’s a seriously scintillating visual novel with interesting gameplay mechanics that really pushed the limits of what RPG Maker could do. Unfortunately, some of those gameplay mechanics handled strangely at times, but that can mostly be forgiven considering the gripping story that unfolds on-screen. If you’re a visual novel fan and want to curl up with a good story on your Switch, NOEL The Mortal Fate is a deal you don’t want to pass up.
