The Troop

Critic Reviews for The Troop
The Troop as a generally solid, if difficult, strategy game on the whole is a diamond in the rough for diehard fans of the genre, but a steep price of entry and less-than-stellar presentational polish means that casual strategists might give it a pass.
My time while playing The Troop was quite challenging. I enjoyed playing through the Story mode until mission ten. This is when I started to feel fatigued, and the gameplay loop wasn’t pulling me in. It did confuse me why the Story mode is different to the Campaign since I couldn’t play the Campaign, to begin with. The game does a good amount of content with the Skirmish maps and thirty-six missions, so I am curious to see what the Campaign is.
The Troop, will provide many hours of great fun, occasionally interrupted by pulling your hair out when you have to start a mission from scratch yet again. However, following the example of our ancestors who, after losing the defensive war in 1939, did not give up and continued fighting beyond their homeland, we too should not surrender. Instead, we should learn from our mistakes and push forward. The game is definitely worth mastering to later derive a ton of fun from it. I wish myself and all of you a great deal of patience and even more fun with this exceptional strategy title.
