Avowed was often compared to The Elder Scrolls in trailers and, in my opinion, was somewhat misrepresented, as it follows its own unique and exciting path. The world is compact yet visually stunning, with four large and two linear areas that feel distinct. The vertical level design and parkour mechanics
Very whelming looter-RPG game
It starts amazingly. The first act is everything I wanted from an RPG. But after that the problems starts to show. Some quests are boring and exist only to make the game longer. In my opinion the game with all its side content would be better if
All in all, a good game, with interesting characters and choices whose importance can be felt. Although repetitive over time, the combat system gets the job done, and the dense, vertical level design is a great success. Too bad the world isn't as lively and interactive as it is
Just finished Avowed. Took me around 55 hrs to beat, doing most side quests, but not the collectible ones and not exploring the whole map or anything like that. So ya it was a lot longer than I initially thought with the HLTB originally saying 30 hrs for main and
After over 30 hours playing Avowed I can say it`s nearly the perfect game for me.
Other RPG Games are more complex or more difficult but because Avowed is different I like it.
The Story is interesting and the Fights are O.K. for me.
You can mix magic and weapons and everywhere
A fantastic game that adheres closely to Obsidian's commitment to player agency and consequences therein, the Murder-Hobo playstyle notwithstanding.
However, there are little to no simulative elements; no crime, no stealing, no picking up every arbitrary object, and no killing arbitrary NPC's outside of key story/quest moments.
If those are a
Fun combat system and bad everything else. Obsidian's best days are behind it.
Game is pretty fun. I've enjoyed stepping into Eora again, and this time from a first-person perspective. The combat is fluid and the plethora of options for your playstyle makes it interesting. I've mostly been plying as a sword and gun with a back-up arquebus. but next time I play
game is fun enough to enjoy through one playthrough but is not worth putting a lot of time into and the side quests are the most boring parts about this game. The story is good but very predictable and relatively short for an open world RPG. I wish there was
I enjoyed this a lot through the first few zones but it really does lose steam by final zone and its climax. There is some great writing in the side quests and with some of the characters, but the main quest is bogged down by some really over expository dialogue
It's a jewel, not the absolute goat but top 10 this year already
Game feels as a 15 year old game with modern graphics and nice things (lore screen during conversations should be a must for all games moving forward). It give me vibes of mass effect 1, vampire bloodlines or deus ex.
i love this game so much to do took me 60 hours to beat i love the combat i love the boss fights story is good 10/10 GOTY
avowed is this years game of the year its better then kingdom come deliverance 2 great combat story loot is everywhere
Don't read too much into the negativity. This game is a classic. Imagine an elder scrolls game with way better combat. I play mostly in 3rd person and it's fantastic. There are multiple regions to explore and the story is light years better than most rpgs these days. If you
It starts out pretty doggone fun. The combat feels good, the first companion has some fun lines.
Then you start getting more companions and they want to talk to you all the time... about the same things over and over.
By the end of my playthrough I was just speedrunning menus
It's just a really fun game to play. Combat feels great, I've enjoyed the story so far (about 2/3 of the way through the game).
