Loftia is a very promising cozy life sim right now, and it captures what makes its world so appealing. It just hasn't quite worked out all the gameplay bits yet. There's plenty to keep farming, crafting, and home-decorating fans busy, especially if you're the sort of person who likes trying different things and building a community. If you're looking for a fully fleshed-out experience, though, you're likely to be a bit frustrated with the current state of things.
My biggest issue is that nothing about the story feels urgent. Despite the quakes and construction, everyone seems perfectly happy and pleasant. The NPCs have little personality, and most of your time with them involves picking up another fetch quest. I wanted to feel like I was making a difference in this community, but selling items to help feed other Loftians doesn’t have quite the same impact as making meals and delivering them to people who need help. There’s very little emotional connection to the people you’re supposed to be helping.
