Available on:PCJan 28, 2016

Developer: Brainchild Studios

Genre: Interactive Story

A serial killer is terrorizing the streets of Victorian London, and private investigator Sydney Emerson has hit a new low between finding lost dogs and receiving alleyway beatings. A turn of events sees Sydney forgoing his selfish nature and thrusting himself into perilous and increasingly surreal situations, treading a fine line between dreams and reality. Explore the foggy streets of Victorian London in all its decadence and depravity, searching the slums, taverns, brothels and even Sydney’s abstract dreamscapes for clues, while meeting a host of interesting, insane and eccentrically British characters along the way.

The Slaughter: Act One Critic Reviews

With its keen writing, dark theme, and wry humor, this is an easy win. Anyone who enjoyed the old LucasArts point-and-click games of old should definitely be keeping an eye on this one. Even those who didn't play those old games, could easily find something worth playing here. The overall design is a testament to its creator's devotion, and it quite handily lives up to the $8.99 price on Steam.

The story and style of the game suit the point-and-click adventure genre nicely, and I look forward to seeing what the developer does in the future.
