Ice Station Z
Critic Reviews for Ice Station Z
There's not much to say about Ice Station Z, other than that it feels like a prototype or a proof of concept more than a final game. If there's hidden depth to be found, we certainly didn't come across it, and if things pick up later in the game very few are going to stick around for the experience. Ice Station Z, unfortunately, is not worth your time or money.
The gameplay would like to trace an established open world genre populated by zombies where, however, the environmental component always holds its own. Cold, hunger, and dehydration force the player to constantly move around, shifting between the various locations of a map balanced pretty well for an indie game. Finding better clothing, weapons for defending or hunting, and means of transportation is satisfying, with a good dose of RNG added by random items respawn.
