Override Mecha City Brawl, a long name for a simple game. Featuring combats with colossal machines in urban areas, the game is easy to get into thanks to its accessible controls and features plenty of customization options. Unfortunately it does a less stellar work on the quality of the experience, which often feels too limited and repetitive. The game also feels out of place as a handheld experience and its online space is nearly deserted, consequences of a price tag that is too high for what's on offer.

Override: Mech City Brawl is a solid port for Nintendo Switch. Any graphical downgrade isn't noticeable in handheld mode, and the action of the game distracts from anything that would stand out. Single-player and local multiplayer can provide hours of fun, but the online multiplayer lets the game down massively. The choice not to implement cross-play harms its long-term appeal, rendering what should enjoyable game modes almost entirely irrelevant. This is still a neat little title, but if you're keen to take your skills online, you might want to look elsewhere for your kicks.

Override had some potential, but it lacks a lot of other stuff that could make it a good game.

If you're a Switch owner, there are better mech games, and there are better fighting games. Override is a game best overlooked.
