SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle For Bikini Bottom - Rehydrated Reviews
SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom was a masterclass in how to handle a licenced game, so it comes as no surprise that Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated is a complete joy. In recreating this cartoon cult classic, THQ and Purple Lamp Studios have facilitated access to an important part of SpongeBob’s history to old fans and a new generation alike. It’s great to see interest in light-hearted platforming experiences make a comeback, especially when considering the market is overwhelmingly filled with adult experiences, much to the frustration of parents.
Spongebob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom - Rehydrated isn’t the most complex or challenging platformer in existence but offers enough variety to still be as F.U.N as it was in 2003.
Spongebob Squarepants: Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated is probably one my favourite 3D platformers of the generation, offering up an experience that’s more Ratchet & Clank than Yooka-Laylee.
This is a remake with updated visuals, adding some of the original’s cut content and a horde mode! But the core gameplay mechanics feel very outdated and maybe instead of adding a multiplayer mode, more time should’ve been spent on updating the gameplay.
