Over on the Rivals subreddit, one player has found that five characters are at a significant disadvantage for players who are using older hardware.
The findings were shared by Reddit user nyin_, who compared several different characters at both 30 fps and 160 fps. They found that, because of the way Marvel Rivals is programmed, certain physics are tied to the game's frame rate.
The first character impacted by a lower frame rate is Doctor Strange. The Sorcerer Supreme's aerial movement is significantly hampered at a lower FPS, with nyin's video showing the character gliding to almost 15 meters at 160 fps, but under 10 meters at 30.
Wolverine's slash attack is the second casualty of a lower frame rate, with players playing at a higher frame rate able to output damage more quickly.
