The Sims and The Sims 2 were re-released on Steam yesterday with all of the expansions and DLC. While many were excited to see these classics finally be made available to pick up play in their entirety, there was criticism right out of the gate, as some were unhappy with the price point.

Now that fans have had a chance to play the relaunched games, it seems that the mood has dipped even more. The Sims 2 Legacy Collection has mixed reviews on Steam, with many describing the re-release as "lazy" and a "cash grab" from EA.

In the negative reviews, players complain that this re-release doesn't make enough changes to justify the price tag.

"This screams 'lazy cash grab' and honestly? It hurts," reads a review from Steam user Sprague. "I know it's not a remaster, but I wish we have more stuff than just 'hey, let's make y'all pay for a quick compatibility fix that you could get on the internet for free, from fans that actually care cause we obviously don't'.

"I know I shouldn't complain because we finally those great games back but... there's literally no quality of life improvement, at all."
