The Sims Players Are Upset With Frequent Crashes

The Sims launched on Steam for the first time earlier this week, all thanks to the Legacy Collection. While you'd think this was a slam dunk for publisher Electronic Arts, opinions are pretty mixed at the moment. On one hand, you have plenty happy that the game is available on Steam to begin with, while others are calling the re-release of The Sims 2 a cash grab due to its price.

Now, it's the first Sims in the firing line, as it has also dropped to Mixed reviews on Steam, but for an entirely different reason. Take a look at the most recent Steam reviews, and you'll see that many players are running into unfortunate performance issues, with constant crashes being the main source of irritation.

Among the few hundred mixed reviews, you'll find quotes from users like Mavi, who claim they "can't recommend it in the current state", and The_D_Effect, who claims their game actually crashed six times in just two hours. Other big issues that players have are the save function potentially wiping entire files, and the game producing nothing but a black screen.
