Civilization 7 is nearly here. However, for those who purchased the Deluxe and Founders Editions, the Advanced Access period playtime has already begun. That said, things have been everything but smooth.
An excellent art style, fantastic sound track, and great leaps forwards for replayability, Civilization 7 is a great game. But it will prove divisive.
As TheGamer reported earlier this week, the game opened to "Mostly Negative" feedback on Steam, where players took aim at a variety of issues, including the UI. "A couple minutes in, and it's just... so blatantly unfinished, especially by Civ standards" one review read. Those issues are coupled with a new Ages system that doesn't appear to have stuck the landing with fans.
Now, in the wake of the negative fanfare, Firaxis, the developer of the game, has acknowledged the feedback, promising to overhaul the game very soon.
In a blog post on the Civilization website, Firaxis shared that it holds itself to "a high standard," adding that the franchise "would not have come this far without you, and your opinions matter greatly to us."
