Takaya Imamura, the celebrated former Nintendo artist who worked for the video game company for over 30 years made a post on X this morning with a new illustration asking for Star Fox Assault (2005) to be brought to the hotly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2.
Imamura left Nintendo in 2021, retiring from the company after a historic 32 years mostly working under Shigeru Miyamoto, who brought him on board in 1989.
Originally intending to design and illustrate game box art for the company, Imamura established himself as a fan of both video games and science fiction, stating at the time that Metroid was his favorite Nintendo game.
Soon, he was working on F-Zero, designing Captain Falcon, and soon after, he designed and illustrated many of the bosses, maps, and the logo for The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (1991).
