Before March is out, Resident Evil fans will have two big dates to look out for, and they start this week. The Resident Evil 3 demo, which was announced by Capcom weeks ago, now has a release date. Players can download it beginning on March 19, this Thursday.

Few details were shared as to what the demo will contain, and it's got us wondering whether Capcom will show off Nemesis in the demo or hold his dramatic introduction until the full release a few weeks from now. The Resident Evil 2 demo was timed and only allowed to be played once for a maximum of 30 minutes. After that, it wouldn't work even if players deleted it and tried again. There's no word yet on if the Resident Evil 3 demo includes similar restrictions.

Later in the month, on March 27, eager players will get their first look at the game's included multiplayer mode, Resident Evil Resistance by way of an open beta. Resistance is an asymmetrical multiplayer game that pits one player against four as the solo "mastermind" works to obstruct the survivors from escaping a maze-like hellscape using things like zombies, traps, and some famous Big Bads from the series.

Resident Evil Resistance is included on disc and download with Resident Evil 3, and together they launch on April 3. The Resident Evil franchise has been on a run of highly reviewed games for a few years now, with Resident Evil 7 and the Resident Evil 2 remake both scoring "Mighty" averages on OpenCritic of 86 and 92 respectively. Can Resident Evil 3 keep the streak alive?
