Baldur's Gate 3 fans are giving the game a gothic horror makeover by adapting the incredibly popular Curse of Strahd adventure module as a fully-fledged custom campaign. And yes, you can smooch the vampire.

Curse of Strahd follows the vampire Strahd von Zarovich, who rules over Barovia. In this Dracula-inspired horror affair, players hunt down Strahd within his own castle walls.

As with any mod of this scope, it's an ambitious undertaking. Not only will there be new companions, Tarokka Reading, romance options, and branching paths, all aiming to match Larian with volunteers alone, it's also set within Ravenloft, which will have to be designed from the ground up in Baldur's Gate 3.

However, the team is keenly aware of how long projects like this take to develop, and that just announcing it to the community is already a huge commitment (Fallout: London took over five years to develop, and Black Mesa a staggering 15 years). On the FAQ page, Project Strahd stresses that it "will take a long time" to finish and won't be released until it's ready.
