Information on the first update for DOOM Eternal has been released.
Bethesda has released information on DOOM Eternal's first update on their blog. The main feature of the update will be Empowered Demons. Whenever a gamer is killed in the single player campaign, the demon that took them down will be beefed up and is transported to another player's campaign to fight them. If the Empowered Demon is killed, the player who killed it will be rewarded with tons of health and ammo, as well as bonus XP to progress in-game events.
The first DOOM Eternal update will also include enhancements to the game's BATTLEMODE. Some of the enhancements include the implementation of Denuvo Anticheat features, changes to the tutorial walkthrough, and poor connection indicators. There will also be Echelon Leveling for players at the maximum level, as well as a Death Report screen to offer players more insight mid-match. New features to help build up a friends list via Bethesda.net are also coming to BATTLEMODE. By using Account IDs, gamers will be able to quickly get their friends together to join them in the arena.
DOOM Eternal's update will also make some single-player quality-of-life improvements. This includes expanded demon tutorials, the ability to dash vertically in water, and an adjustment to toxic damage while swimming.
According to Bethesda, these are just some of the changes coming to DOOM Eternal. The game's Invasion mode is still being worked on, as well as the first DLC expansion of the Year One pass. New screenshots for DOOM Eternal's first DLC expansion were released on Twitter, and can be seen here. Bethesda did state that information on the Invasion mode and DLC expansion will come at a later date.
DOOM Eternal is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Stadia. A Nintendo Switch port of DOOM Eternal is in the works at the moment.
