Baldur's Gate 3 is such a massive story, with so many options and winding paths, that some inconsistencies were always going to be inevitable. Thankfully, we have a massive amount of lore at our disposal, across Baldur's Gate and Dungeons & Dragons, that helps us try and explain away some of the inconsistencies and keep us on our merry way.

He's not the most persuasive demon.

One such inconsistency that fans recently noticed can be found in the Shadow-Cursed Lands, and is specifically tied to the poor "patient" under the "care" of Malus Thorm in the House of Healing. A Reddit user called Cosmic_Meditator777 pointed out that it is just theoretically impossible for Thorm's patient to survive that deep into the Shadowlands, what with that whole Shadow Curse thing.

We know that stepping foot into the miasma will kill you pretty rapidly, unless you're surrounded by light or have the blessings of Selune or the pixie. When you find Thorm's patient in the House of Healing, he's strapped to a table, potentially with his eyeballs and tongue cut out, and seemingly not blessed by anything. So, how is he even alive to begin with?
