Gamers will be able to play Assassin's Creed Origins for free this weekend.

Assassin's Creed Origins will be free-to-play on PC this weekend. The news comes from the Ubisoft website. The game will be available from June 19th-21st. Preloading for the weekend is available right now. A Uplay account will be required in order to participate in Origins' free-to-play weekend. If players wish to purchase Origins after the free weekend and continue the game, their progress will be saved. The standard edition of the game is on sale at the moment, running for $12 as opposed to its usual $60.

Assassin's Creed Origins has players take up the mantle of Bayek, and is set in Ancient Egypt. The game's story starts off as one of revenge, and leads into the founding of the Assassin's Brotherhood. Players are able to stroll through the bustling streets of Alexandria, sail down the crocodile-infested waters of the Nile, and climb to the top of the Pyramids of Giza. Origins featured all-new battle mechanics, and a quest system that allows players to complete missions in any order that they wished.

The next Assassin's Creed title, Assassin's Creed : Valhalla, was revealed earlier this year. In this new entry for the series, players will take on the role of Eivor, a viking warrior. In Valhalla, players will explore an open world, raid fortresses, build their clan's new settlement, and earn a place in Valhalla. No date has been given for Valhalla at the moment, though it is expected to drop this holiday season. The game will be available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Google Stadia. There is a chance that the game will release on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X as well.

Assassin's Creed Origins is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The game is a part of the Uplay+ subscription service on PC.

I have been playing video games for as long as I can remember. I am a huge fan of JRPGs, though I also enjoy fighters. I have been writing about video games for a few years now. If it has a great story, I am sure that I will dig it.
