A new game in the Bloodstained series has been announced.
Developer Artplay has announced Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2. The game will star Zangetsu, and will keep the 8-bit aesthetic that the first game had. The game has Zangetsu battling his way to a demonic stronghold with the help of a number of allies. A trailer was released for the game, and can be seen here.
Curse of the Moon 2 will feature three playable characters aside from Zangetsu. Players will also be able to control Dominique, an exorcist who wields a spear capable of attacking vertically. She also utilizes healing and revival sub-weapons to help support the team. The third playable character is Robert, who is an excellent marksman. He uses three sub-weapons that support his physical weaknesses, as well as one with extreme firepower. Robert has no magical abilities, and has extremely low defense. Finally, there is Hachi, a Welsh Corgi who operates a set of magicked armor. Hachi has the highest HP of the group, and can traverse some obstacles without taking damage. However, Hachi is a large target, and possesses no offensive sub-weapons.
The reveal of Curse of the Moon 2 comes a few weeks after it was announced that Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night has sold over one million copies. A roadmap for Ritual of the Night was revealed as well. This week saw the release of a Boss Revenge Mode, as well as more options for character customization. Coming later this year is a VS Mode, a Chaos mode, and a Classic Mode. The VS Mode has two players compete against each other, while the Chaos Mode is a boss rush for one or two players. The Classic Mode will feature an 80s-style that will have Miriam face off against a series of sub-bosses across five levels and three difficulties. Late this year a new playable character will be released, though it is not known at this time who that character will be.
Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2 is "coming soon" to PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch.
