“Absolutely Shameful”: Diablo 4 Season 8 Battle Pass Changes Are Getting Eviscerated Online

Diablo 4 has just entered its eighth in-game season of content, and a major change was made to its battle pass system. The new battle pass, now broken up into smaller, individual segments called Reliquaries, has been met with a lot of ire from players, however.

Reddit user Nice-Brief9261 says, "Diablo 4 Season 8 is absolutely shameful," blaming recycled content on the resources required to rework the battle pass system. Comments tend to agree, with one pointing out that Season 8 "has [fewer] free rewards and more recycled content." User ITheDarkitect (via GameSpot) posted a scathing breakdown of the new Reliquaries system compared to the battle passes of previous seasons. They specifically call out "the 500 platinum cut, and the supposed 'freedom of choice' that pretends to make it better." Platinum is Diablo 4's premium currency used to make in-game purchases, including the Reliquaries.
