Oblivion Remastered has opened the eyes of Elder Scrolls fans, especially to the fact that Skyrim was actually a downgrade, despite being more popular. Thanks to the remastered visuals and some new features, players are getting to explore the deeper and complex magic system, and even rethinking some decisions they made in Skyrim.
It only took me two decades to figure out where I was going wrong.
While the remaster is an upgrade in almost every way, including the charming quirks and bugs, there are some things that fans are a bit unhappy about. The original Oblivion featured different variants of weapons and armour. While not very different in terms of stats, they offered a different visual from the base version. Unfortunately, this has not made it into the remaster.
As pointed out by a player on Reddit, the variants look exactly like the base versions. In this case, the Blackwood armour looks exactly like the regular steel armour, while it was notably darker in the original. This seems to be the case with a lot of weapons and armour sets in the remaster. In fact, a lot of black items have overall become lighter.
