Oblivion Remastered has been an even bigger hit than anyone expected. Bethesda already confirmed more than four million of us played it during its first week, now we know a lot of people paid for the privilege rather than relying on Game Pass.
That's thanks to industry analyst Matt Piscatella who revealed the Oblivion remaster is already the third best-selling game of 2025, and that's only based on figures from the game's first week. The only two games released this year to have outsold Oblivion Remastered at this stage are Assassin's Creed Shadows and Monster Hunter Wilds.
"We should be thankful that we have 3 excellent games in the same setting".
Piscatella doesn't divulge exactly how many copies have been sold so far. He also notes that these numbers are based on dollar sales and use numbers from the US only. However, it's possible to estimate how many copies of Oblivion Remastered have been sold based on the data we have, both from Piscatella and elsewhere.
