One of the first challenges thrown your way in Oblivion's main questline is the Siege of Kvatch. You're sent there to retrieve Martin Septim, but the town is already under attack, meaning you have to close an Oblivion Gate and mow down enemies that have taken over the settlement.
As you fight your way through Kvatch, three Imperial soldiers will run up to you and offer their aid. They'll then follow you throughout the town, taking down Daedra and saving the townsfolk - even if it costs them their lives.
I know this is the Oblivion Crisis and all, but I’m just trying to frolic.
While this is just a small part of the quest - and none of these characters are named - fans have long commended these soldiers for their bravery and selflessness, and are doing so once more in Oblivion Remastered. Their introductory line is often cited as proof of their undying dedication to duty: "We saw the smoke from the Gold Road while out on patrol. How can we help?". No hesitation. Not even giving you the option to turn them away. Legends.
