EA Access and Origin Access are getting a new name and look very soon.
According to the EA website, EA Access and Origin Access will soon be combined into one service. Starting next week, EA Access and Origins Access will come to together to be EA Play. Origin Access Premier will be renamed EA Play Pro. According to EA, EA Access and Origins Access are becoming EA Play in order to streamline their services in order to ensure that being an EA Play member is the "best way to play."
Though EA Access and Origins Access are being renamed, EA has stated that their members will still get the same benefits as the original services. Players will still be able to play early trials of upcoming EA titles, get instant access to a library of EA games, and get 10% off of all EA digital purchases. This includes full games and DLC. They will also now receive in-game challenges and rewards, as well as unlock special members-only content. This includes early access challenges and rewards such as Ultimate Team packs, exclusive vanity items and cosmetics, and more.
It was also announced that the EA Play event will keep the name that it used this past summer: EA Play Live. EA Play Live will continue to bring news and updates about upcoming EA titles.
Earlier this week a page for EA Access (or EA Play) appeared on Steam. The page stated that the service will come to the storefront soon. Gamers can follow EA on Steam to be updated when the service will be available. No release date or window was not given other than "soon."
EA Access and Origin Access will become EA Play next week on August 18th. The service will likely keep the price points of $4.99 for a month or $29.99 for a year.
