At this point, it feels as though Star Wars: Battlefront is cursed to never get a third game.
Free Radical Design began development on a sequel in 2006 to the original series, which would have implemented seamless ground to space battles, but after missing several deadlines, the project was cancelled. DICE, who revived the series with two reboots in 2015 and 2017, likewise pitched a third game after support for Battlefront 2 ended, but EA shot down the idea due to licensing costs.
At least we had the two PSP spin-offs.
That hasn't dissuaded fans, however. With Battlefront 2 seeing a major resurgence in players, likely spurred on by Andor, Fortnite, and the 20th anniversary of Revenge of the Sith, petitions have started up again calling on EA and Disney to finally make Battlefront 3.
