There's no question Oblivion Remastered has been a hit, Xbox revealing more than four million of us have played it already. The gravity of just how big a deal the game has been continues to manifest, though, as it has now been revealed that it took the remaster less than two weeks to outpace the original's first-year sales.

That's according to industry analyst Mat Piscatella. Piscatella shared detailed breakdowns of video game sales for April 2025, revealing Oblivion Remastered was the best-selling game in the US. Considering the remaster was only available for the final 12 days of the month (Circana includes data up until May 3), that makes Oblivion's chart-topping performance even more impressive.

It doesn't end there, though. Not only was Oblivion Remastered the best-selling game of the month in April, but it used the 12 days available to it to put the original game's sales numbers to shame. Piscatella noted that by May 3, Oblivion Remastered had sold more copies than the original managed in its first 15 months on the market, and made more in dollar sales for Bethesda than the original...
