Project Diablo 2 is a mod that completely refreshes the Diablo 2 experience, sanding off some of the iconic ARPG's archaic edges, and adding a couple of modern conveniences.

To play Project Diablo 2, players need a legitimate copy of Diablo 2 and Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction. The mod team actively develops the game, resetting servers every four months to keep everything feeling fresh.

The mod has made plenty of positive changes to the original. For example, underwhelming skills and items have been improved, ensuring that every item and skill has a strategic reason for use. There are also plenty of technical improvements, such as 60-frames-per-second capabilities, high-definition shaders and fonts, and widescreen support.

There's also controller support, something the original Diablo 2 never had.

Project Diablo 2 runs off the original release of Diablo from 2000, not the remaster from 2021, Diablo 2: Resurrected.

The mod has been impressing fans of the series, who have been extoling the team behind the project, saying they understand the heart and spirit of the series.
