We will be getting a new look at Star Wars: Squadrons later this week.

On Twitter, Geoff Keighley announced that a world premier look at Star Wars: Squadrons will happen at gamescom's Opening Night Live. The premier will likely be gameplay of the upcoming dogfighting simulator. Opening Night Live will take place this Thursday at 11 a.m. PST / 2 p.m. EST. Not much else was revealed in the tweet, so we will have to wait until the event to see what EA will bring to the table for Squadrons

Squadrons is not the only game that will be seeing a premier at Opening Night Live. Last week it was revealed that Season 2 of Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout will be receiving a sneak peak at the event. Once again, not much information was given on what to expect from the sneak peek, but it can be assumed that we will see new costumes and mini-games.

Last month it was revealed that Squadrons will be playable on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, but not as upgraded versions of the title. While the game comes out soon before the next-gen consoles are expected to release, there will not be a full grade for the upcoming platforms. It was announced by creative director Ian Frazier that while the game will not have PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X versions, it will instead be playable on the console through backwards compatibility.

Star Wars: Squadrons will release on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on October 2nd. The game will hold a $40 price point, which is meant to help drum up curiosity for the game, especially for those who have never played flight simulators before. The price is meant to help encourage gamers to give the game a try without having to pay full price.
