When you talk about tough combat encounters in Baldur's Gate 3, the likes of Raphael, Ansur, and even the Netherbrain come to mind. However, those encounters are pretty straightforward – whittle down the bad guy's health. You've probably replayed BG3 enough times to know exactly how to level up your characters in order to make these fights trivial.

If you're thinking about going back to Baldur's Gate 3, the final patch is a perfect excuse.

However, encounters truly get difficult when you're dealing with a large number of enemies. There aren't too many occasions where the game overwhelms you with sheer numbers, but The House of Grief stands out as one of the most difficult fights, even more so in Honour Mode. The place is filled with enemy NPCs, some of which try to rush you, while others drain your party's health from afar.

"The House of Grief is probably the hardest straight up fight in the game - if you take it as a straight up fight," said a comment on a Reddit post of someone who underestimated it. "Spam crowd control as much as possible. There are so many enemies that this will make it a lot simpler....
