PlayStation Studios CEO Herman Hulst has recently confirmed that the studio aims to release "at least" one big single-player game a year from now on.

Even though PlayStation has had two massive console generations in a row and is generally in a much better place than it was in the dark era of the PS3's early days, it's fair to say that a lot of players are disappointed with its output lately. PlayStation is known for its first-party releases, but the PS5 simply hasn't had all that much that takes advantage of the current generation.

At this rate, we might end up having to pay $1,000 for a new console. Is it really worth it?

While last year did give us the excellent Astro Bot, it really felt more like the start of the PS5's tenure than its fourth year. Although there have been a lot of exciting first-party releases from PlayStation over the past few years like Spider-Man 2, God of War Ragnarok, and more, there have been some concerns about whether it'll be able to keep up that momentum.
