Just last month, Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford refused to comment on how much Borderlands 4 would cost, saying that he doesn't "know what the price is going to be".

Players were worried that it might join Mario Kart World as part of the $80 club, to which Pitchford responded, "If you're a real fan, you'll make it happen". Suffice it to say, the community didn't take his comment well, especially as it seemed to confirm that it would be the most expensive entry in the series. But after all that controversy, it doesn't even cost $80 — you'll just have to tip Pitchford that extra ten bucks to earn your stripes as a 'real fan'.

As announced in the latest 2K blog, the standard edition of Borderlands 4 will cost $69.99, finally putting the issue to bed.
