We now know when Ghost of Tsushima's multiplayer mode will drop.

On the PlayStation Blog, it was announced that Ghost of Tsushima: Legends will release on October 16th. The mode will be a part of the free Version 1.1 update. In Legends, teams of players meet up to take on story missions and raids. Gamers can take on two-player story missions and four-player survival missions. Raids will become available in the weeks after Legends releases.

After players download the 1.1 update, they will see a new character called Gyozen the Storyteller in various locations around Tsushima. Speaking to Gyozen will grant gamers access to the Legends lobby. The lobby can also be accessed through title menu or the pause menu, or by accepting a PSN invitation from a friend.

Legends will feature four different classes: Samurai, Hunter, Ronin, and Assassin. Each class has their own unique abilities, as well as class-specific Charms and ranged weapons. When starting Legends, after going through a short tutorial, players will choose which class they want to unlock first. As they rank up, they will unlock the the other classes. When playing with friends, gamers will be able to mix and match classes however they please. They can form a party of all the same class, have everyone play a different class, or something in between.

Along with Legends, version 1.1 will add a New Game+ mode. When starting New Game+, players will begin the game at the release of the open world, shortly after Jin's initial confrontation with the Khan. Players will keep all of their Techniques, Gear, and Vanity items that they earned in the first playthrough, and will see a rise in difficulty to help provide a challenge. Gamers will find that they will have a brand new New Game+ plus horse that features a red mane and unique saddle. There will also be new, extremely powerful Charms for players to obtain.

Other features in version 1.1 of Ghost of Tsushima will allow players to collect a new type of flower: the Ghost Flower. This flower can only be earned in New Game+, and is accepted by a mysterious new merchant that can be found in Ariake. If players complete tasks that they already beat in their initial playthrough, they will be rewarded with Ghost Flowers. They can exchange these flowers for armor dyes and other vanity gear that is only obtainable in New Game+. Gamers will also be able to trade the Ghost Flowers for powerful new Charms that are meant to create new combat experiences.

Ghost of Tsushima is available now for the PlayStation 4.
