Popular PS2 Game No Longer Available On PlayStation Store

Sony's PlayStation Store is filled with countless classic PS2 games available to purchase on the PlayStation 3, PS4, and even PS5. This classic PlayStation franchise, like Jack and Daxter and Sly Cooper, and timeless classics like Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

Once in a while, a cult classic is made available to a new audience. That was the case when Gradius V became available on the PlayStation 3 in 2015. Sadly, one unfortunate aspect of digital versions of older games is that the licensing rights can expire. Gradius V, initially released for the PlayStation 2 in 2004, recently expired on the PlayStation Store.

Cases like this prove why physical copies of games are so important: you'll always be able to put the disc into a console and play a game.

This isn't the first time a beloved Konami game has been delisted. A few years ago, the Metal Gear Solid Collection was delisted from digital stores before the Master Collection's release in October 2023.
