Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket's latest expansion, Eevee Grove, has been out for close to two weeks now, and the game's new meta has really started to find its... Eevee groove.
Just days after release, many of the game's most successful decks focused on Eevee and a selection of its eight evolutions: Vaporeon, Flareon, Jolteon, Espeon, Umbreon, Glaceon, Sylveon, and Leafeon, but as time has passed, players have already begun to find counters for cards released in this expansion.
I know it's not personal, but it feels like it is.
While one card, Oricorio, has always been a popular anti-meta pick, limiting the power of ex-only decks, it's really found its footing following the release of Eevee Grove, featuring in the game's current four most successful decks.
Oricorio never really went anywhere. Since its inclusion in the Celestial Guardians expansion, the usually-useless bird has been an incredibly popular pick thanks to its Safeguard ability, which nullifies all damage received from Pokemon ex. In Eevee Grove, though, the Pokemon has stepped into the limelight like never before.
