Last month, during the Switch 2's launch, buyers found their new consoles damaged by retailer GameStop out of the box, and it was due to a stapler.
While most companies would want to forget about this as soon as possible, GameStop wants to make something out of this fiasco, but it's for a good cause.
This now-infamous stapler is being auctioned off, and it's to benefit a children's charity.

GameStop isn't just auctioning off the stapler, but there's also a "Certificate of Authenticity" for the office supply, and the winning bid will get the stapler, which GameStop notes, "Features authentic field-use wear throughout and retired immediately from service, the stapler now stands as a retail legend born from a half-second decision."
The company will also include the first stapled Nintendo Switch 2 console, and to prove it is the stapled device, GameStop has provided its serial number "HAW50270415462." The screen has been repaired and it's ready for play. It's said to be the first console to be officially stapled during a product launch at GameStop.
