One of the most celebrated horror game series of all time is heading to mobile later in 2025 with the announcement of Resident Evil Survival Unit, and several of its multiple playable heroes have now been revealed. The game looks to offer a much different experience than what Resident Evil fans are used to, but the return of so many familiar faces gives them plenty to be excited about.
Announced at Anime Expo 2025 in Los Angeles, the project is being headed up by executive producer Shinji Hashimoto, a longtime employee of Square Enix who retired from the company in 2022. In his time there, Hashimoto has played major roles in the development of 23 different games in the Final Fantasy franchise. Since his retirement, he's still been full of ideas, and Resident Evil Survival Unit will be the culmination of one of those in late 2025.
