While Mortal Kombat 1 has essentially been sunset, with no additional DLC being marked for release, the franchise is continuing on later this year with the Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection.

Originally announced during last month's PlayStation State of Play, the Legacy Kollection is exactly what its namesake implies — a massive collection (or kollection in MK speak) of classic Mortal Kombat games all packaged together, complete with some historical and archival elements.

An playable documentary is the perfect way to get into Mortal Kombat.

Though a release date has not been determined, some new details about the game have been lifted from the title's Xbox storefront page, including a new way to obtain all of those secret characters.

On the page, which you can check out here, it's stated that players will be able to bypass any of the built-in requirements for unlocking secret characters with a simple press of the button, thus unlocking everything from the get-go.

- No More Secrets: At the touch of a button, unlock all secret characters, change game settings, and access the buried developer menus to play the games your way.
