Halo: Combat Evolved's Rumored Remake Reportedly Won't Include This Classic Mode

Halo is in a bit of a state right now, with morale at the developer of the series reportedly at an all-time low following a brutal round of layoffs at Microsoft and Xbox. It's looking bleak for the future of the series, but Phil Spencer gave fans a slight glimmer of hope during this year's Xbox Games Showcase, claiming we'll see "the return of a classic that’s been with us since the beginning" at some point next year.

A new announcement during this year's Halo World Championship was also teased by Halo Studios last month, as it explained that it will be revealing what it's been working on during the event, which is scheduled to take place this October. It sounds like a Halo: Combat Evolved remake is on the cards, which would be a welcome announcement for a series that's in desperate need of a reboot.
