The director of the upcoming Resident Evil movie, Zach Cregger, has admitted that he's not trying to be too "obedient" with the game's lore, since he knows fans will "come after" him online no matter what.

Although almost every Resident Evil fan has their attention focused solely on the upcoming ninth mainline game, Resident Evil Requiem, that's not the only big thing for the series that's in the works right now. There's also a new movie coming out, but this one is a lot more exciting than the previous underwhelming adaptations.

Simply titled "Resident Evil" right now, the upcoming movie is directed by Barbarian lead Zach Cregger, who has gone on record to note that he's a big fan of the games. Still, even though Cregger loves Resident Evil, he's admitted that he's not going to try too hard to follow the games as closely as you might expect in his reboot.
