The Fallout franchise might be making its return to the gaming world, as a leaker is claiming that Fallout 5 has finally been greenlit, though with a different team working on it, as Bethesda is tied up with other projects.
The success of the Fallout TV show for Amazon in 2024 should have been accompanied by a ton of Fallout projects, the least of which should have been ports of the older games to modern platforms. Microsoft missed the boat, however, and it was Fallout 76 carrying the franchise when it came to new content.
Microsoft may have finally gotten the Fallout gravy train running again. Jez Corden claimed on the Xbox Two Podcast on YouTube that Fallout 5 has been greenlit, being a safer prospect than the recently canceled MMO. As with all rumors, this information should be taken with a grain of salt, especially as it’s going to be a long time before any game would be revealed to the public.
