We still don’t know what God of War Ragnarok developer Santa Monica Studios and creative director Cory Barlog are working on, but whatever it is, apparently things have been going smoothly.
The news comes from Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier on ResetEra (spotted by Game Rant), who spoke to members of the unannounced project's development team.
Santa Monica Studios has only developed God of War games since the series began back in 2005, but all signs are pointing to this probably changing with their next game, especially considering that God of War Ragnarok director Eric Williams has seemingly taken the reins of the series.
Development Is Progressing Smoothly
Whatever Cory Barlog has in the works, it seems to be the main thing Santa Monica Studios is currently working on, according to Schreier.
Him describing the project just as “Cory Barlog’s game” adds extra credence to the assumption that whatever Barlog’s got in the works is not related to the next God of War game that is reportedly also in development, which seems like it might be a bit smaller in scale than the previous huge blockbuster titles.
